Taiwanese Film “Hand in Hand” to be screened
at　Chazen Museum, Madison on November 6, 2015
In collaboration with the North American Taiwan Studies Association- Wisconsin Chapter (NATSA-WIC), Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston is cordially inviting the public to attend Taiwanese Film “Hand in Hand “on November6th, 2015at Chazen Museum in Madison.
“Hand in Hand（牽阮的手）” is a documentary directed by JUANG Yi-Tzeng/莊益增and YEN Lan-Chuan/顏蘭權, depicting the love story between TIAN Meng-Shu/田孟淑and her husbanddoctor TIAN Chao-Ming/田朝明as well as their fight for democracy and human rights in Taiwan over 60 years. Through this documentary, people will learn more about the history of the development of democracy during Taiwan’speriod of Martial Lawand during more recent years through interviews and several animations.
“Hand in Hand” was invited in 2011 to appear at the Tokyo International Women’s Film Festival, it was also the Closing Film in the 2010 Women Make Waves Film Festival, and has won the Grand Prize of the Taiwan Award in the 2010 Taiwan International Documentary Festival.

北美臺灣研究學會威斯康辛分會即將於11月6日假威斯康辛州麥迪遜Chazen Museum播映「牽阮的手」，駐休士頓辦事處臺灣書院竭誠邀請民眾蒞臨欣賞這部記錄臺灣民主發展歷史的紀錄影片。
「牽阮的手/Hand in Hand」由莊益增及顏蘭權夫婦共同執導，描述臺南鄉親田孟淑與醫師田朝明從相識到結為終身伴侶，兩人超過60年爭取民主人權的真實故事。透過這部影片引領觀眾瞭解臺灣自戒嚴時期到近年的民主發展過程。
「牽阮的手」花費5年時間完成，2011年公開播映，曾應邀參加2011年東京女性影展映演，擔任2010年女性影展閉幕片，並榮獲2010年臺灣國際紀錄片雙年展「臺灣獎首獎」等肯定。
