Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. (October 8, 1941 – February 17, 2026)

我们怀着沉痛的心情悼念美国著名民权运动领袖 Jesse Jackson Sr. 牧师。

杰克逊1941年10月8日出生于南卡罗来纳州格林维尔市。1965年投身由 Martin Luther King Jr. 领导的民权运动。1968年金博士遇刺时，杰克逊在场。此后，他成为美国民权运动的重要领袖，长期为选举权、就业、教育和医疗公平发声。

他创立了 Rainbow PUSH Coalition，并于1984年、1988年两度竞选美国总统。2000年荣获总统自由勋章。2017年他公开患有帕金森病。

2026年2月17日，杰克逊在芝加哥去世，享年84岁。

他的一生致力于争取平等与公义，精神长存。

Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. (October 8, 1941 – February 17, 2026)

We mourn the passing of Jesse Jackson Sr., a prominent American civil rights leader, who died in Chicago on February 17, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on October 8, 1941, in Greenville, South Carolina, Rev. Jackson joined the Civil Rights Movement in 1965 under the leadership of Martin Luther King Jr.. He later became a leading voice for voting rights, economic justice, education, and healthcare equality.

He founded the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and ran for U.S. president in 1984 and 1988. In 2000, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He publicly disclosed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2017.

His lifelong commitment to justice and equality leaves a lasting legacy.
